The Story of David Blagrove and his posthumous Novel
David was a bit of a local hero to Stoke Bruerne. Loved by his family, respected as a teacher in nearby Roade, and remembered for his passion for the canal and canal boats.
David was a passionate advocate of utilising the UK's canal and waterways network. He provided a wealth of knowledge and experience on it's early working and had his first book ‘ The History of Stoke Bruerne’s canal’ published in 1968.
David’s legacy lives on through the David Blagrove Community Trust and his spirit and humour lives on in his posthumously published novel ‘ Ellison’s Winter’ in which some of the characters may well be recognised by some of his friends, family and locals !
